22091454Ever since Jordan Billette’s father, Jeremy, died unexpectedly when she was eight years old, Jordan and her paternal grandmother (‘Grannie’) have shared a special bond by creating a tribute to Jeremy: a scrapbook that documents the important milestone of Jordan’s life from her first report card with letter grades, to her first kiss, to graduating from college.

Upon graduating from college, only one significant milestone remains; her wedding day. When Grannie is diagnosed with aggressive cancer, she makes one dying wish to Jordan. Grannie wants to watch Jordan walk down the aisle. Not engaged? Not even dating? No problem. Grannie has a plan. She signs Jordan up for a dating service—dinner dates twice per week will surely turn up a soul mate!

JT Murphy has been best friends with Jordan’s older brother Jared since they were in diapers. Grannie wisely insists Jordan meet her dates at the restaurant where JT waits tables because she needs protection from unworthy jerks. JT is more than happy to help; Jordan is like a sister to him. So why does her smile light up his evening whenever he sees her and why is he noticing that she has curves in all the right places? As the wedding draws near…

JT wonders if it’s his heart that needs protecting… from the pain of potentially losing Jordan forever.

Before anything else, I want to make it clear that back in May 2014 (when it was newly published), I gave this a novel a try and ended up not being able to finish it because it turned out to be ‘not my cup of tea’. Less than a year later, I decided to give it a try again and WOW, I loved it! I just told R.C. how awesome time can change a person’s perspective. Apparently, I was a picky reader back then. Now, not so much.

This short novel is all fun, charming and sweet romance! 🙂

Grannie’s last wish before she succumbs to her illness is to see Jordan walking down the aisle. So she decides to sign her up on a dating service where Jordan goes on a date with a different guy every week. But to be on the safe side, her dates were set where JT, her brother’s best friend, worked so he can keep an eye on her. But… their sudden attraction was hard to ignore and their new feelings for each other.

I adored ALL of the characters, most especially Jordan, JT, and of course, Grannie. I wish she was my Grannie! Hehe. The story was heartwarming. I was hooked from the beginning, to be honest, I didn’t stop reading until I finished the book, which was around 3 in the morning. 😉

About this author

I was born and raised by deaf parents in the Metro-Detroit area along with four siblings. Growing up in a house full of children, there was never a dull moment! We all inherited the reading gene from our father, who is a voracious reader. And the reading gene continues strong in my own two sons. I’m happily married (second time is a charm) to a patient and loving man who always cheers me on from the side-line to pursue my dreams. What more can a girl want?
