3.75 stars, rounded up to 4.

Through His Eyes follows Trudy Tucker, a talented psychic who’s learning to fully accept and tap into her gift as she works a Key West serial murder case with the sexy showboat medium, Levi Wolfe.

Levi is rich, good at what he does, and pretty dang arrogant. I enjoyed Tru’s reluctance to give in to him, and wish she’d held out even longer. Set in southern Florida, the sunny, beachy descriptions put me in the mood for a vacation and some key lime pie! Sex scenes were plentiful–you can’t deny Levi and Tru have chemistry in the bedroom. The mystery was well done and Ms. Camp didn’t hold back on some of the more gruesome aspects of the murders. Seeing the murderer’s horrific actions through the heroine’s mind makes for suspenseful, anxious reading. Makes me wonder just how tuned in Trudy can get with the people she tracks.

I’d classify this as a Romantic Suspense with heavy paranormal themes. Though at times abundant internal conflicts between the main characters occasionally gave it a Contemporary Romance feel.

Hello Kind Readers!

What shall I tell about myself that isn’t X rated? Hmmm. Okay. I love dogs and I volunteer for an animal rescue group. I also love men and I have one I’m fairly fond of — we aren’t married but we’ve been in a relationship for most of my adult life! My heart still skips a beat when he walks into the room. Sappy, but true.

I cut my teeth reading romances and writing has always been part of my life ever since I learned the alphabet. I worked as a journalist before I quit to be a full-time novelist. I’ve always made my living writing. More than 40 of my novels have been published.

Firstly, I love love love this cover! 🙂

Following shortly after the events of Fatal Exposure, Dylan once again stumbles onto a murder scene and unsurprisingly, trouble follows him almost immediately! A troublesome cop, a frantic relative and a new threat hovering over their heads, as well as Dylan’s responsibilities, will Alex be able to be the person that Dylan needs and how will she be able to deal with all of these while focusing also on her own career?

Fatal Divide is twice more thrilling than the previous installment of this particular series and the author has amped up her game in the mystery aspect of the book. It has the same dynamic as the previous book and I really like that the author is consistent with the theme but I had hoped for more romance but that is selfishness on my part. I would not slash a well-deserved star just because I didn’t get everything I want!

I think the struggles Dylan and Alex face are quite plausible; in their early and mid 20s, at that age they are still finding their place in this world. Like, how the hell are they gonna have sex in such a small town? They couldn’t do it at her place after the episode when they were teenagers! They couldn’t do it at his place because his mother is there in a comatose state – it wouldn’t be right! They couldn’t do it at a motel because everyone will start babbling! I feel for them. I really do. Just a little sexy time! Is that too much to ask!? Poor Dylan and Alex! LOL.

But kidding aside, I really enjoyed this one perhaps even more than the previous book!

Like in Fatal Exposure, there are still loose ends to the book but there is no cliff hanger. You can bet that I will be waiting for the next release in this series. I look forward to finding out what trouble Dylan is going to stumble upon next and how his and Alex’s relationship will develop now that they have made some serious decisions revealed near the end of the book.

Do not read this book if you have not yet read Fatal Exposure.

About this author

Jamie Jeffries is the author of a growing catalog of Romantic Suspense and Contemporary Romance novels and novellas. She likes to bring a bit of the unusual, the unlikely and the humorous to her plots. Jamie brings you heroines who overcome hard challenges, sweet, sexy heroes with a hint of alpha male, and side characters you’ll love to hate or laugh with.

When she isn’t writing (which is almost never) Jamie enjoys reading, hiking in the foothills near Denver, live blues music, karaoke and now and then a good craft beer or Colorado wine.

Caution: whether reading or writing, Jamie bites when interrupted in the middle of a good chase scene, whether it’s bad guys chasing the hero in cars, or the hero chasing the heroine around the bedroom.

Years before on the verge of having sex for the very first time, Dylan and Alex had been caught by Alex’s father. Enraged, he threatened to sue Dylan since he was of legal age and she was, unfortunately, not. That lead to many realizations and Dylan was forced to leave town, assuring Alex that he was never looking back.

But he did and now he was back. With a murder looming over their heads, an enraged suitor, Dylan’s family issues and with someone actually targeting Alex this time – will they be given a second chance before it’s too late?

This was an exciting read! The romance was merely secondary to the exciting mystery/crime plot. Alex is a very interesting character. She’s young and persistent. She won’t let herself be bullied by those around her! Dylan on the other hand is not your average hero. He may not be your typical alpha male but he is still hottie in a uniform (forest ranger) – and don’t we all love that?

The author did an awesome job in the mystery side of the book! It was great and there were twists here that I honestly did not see coming. By the time I reached the end of the book, I found that I liked Alex – damn, what adrenaline rush could do to that girl! 😀

There’s still loose ends at the end of the book but rest assured that this didn’t end in a cliffhanger. Their story continues on in Fatal Divide I look forward to getting started on that! I do hope that we get a little more romance in that book. 😉

This isn’t my usual fare of reading. I’m more of a paranormal junkie so that probably influenced my enjoyment of this book. For the first part of the book, I wasn’t feeling it. It started off slow, and stayed too long inside the main characters heads. They went back and forth about how much they wanted each other, but why it wouldn’t work. I have to admit, I rolled my eyes a bit, and wanted to smack both of them upside the head. How the other townsfolk didn’t slap them, I have no idea since it would see there were bets placed on their relationship or lack thereof. Guess everyone knew how hot they were for each other except Devin and Kylie.

I’m not sure how I felt about Devin. On one hand, he was super sweet and attentive. On the other hand, way too possessive and dominating. But hey, Kylie loved it, so who am I to disagree? Kylie kind of irked me. She was so damn wishy-washy. I get that she didn’t want to dredge up bad memories, and hoped Allen would just disappear, however, she kept going back and forth about telling Devin everything. One minute she was on board with it all, the other minute, she couldn’t possibly tell him. Damn glad to see her finally grow a backbone, though.

There was a fair bit of angst and not enough action for my tastes. Again, it’s the type of book I’m used to. The sex… um, wow! I’m surprised my kindle didn’t catch fire because it was scorching. My eyebrows raised quite a few times. If Ms. Morgan wrote only erotica, I’d be standing in line to read that.

The middle part of the book had quite a bit of action, and I was glued to my kindle. My poor kid only had half my attention while we played Minecraft. Okay, I lied, he had like maybe an eighth of my attention. 😉

Overall, there was enough to make me curious for the next book.

About this author

I currently live in Central Mississippi, USA with my Hubby and my two dogs. I’m a studier of human nature and cultures. My house is the place where all the strays and lost animals come to for shelter and safety. I have a crazy little Wild Kingdom here. We have a multi-generation family of toads that have taken up residence in an old dog crate I keep on my carport. We have another multi-generation family of lizards that live in the tree at the corner of where the carport and the driveway meet. I have stray cats, dogs, and even an aardvark that comes to visit, rarely but he has visited and scared the Holy crap out of me when he does. It truly is Savvy’s Wacky Wild Kingdom here.

On a personal notes, I like Cool Drinks, Hot men and Hotter Books. I write Adult Contemporary Romances and Suspense/Adventure Romances. You might be asking what the difference is between ACR and Erotica. Well my books have a lot of story, in-depth character research and development, (I’ve made up entire family trees for my characters, career bios, birthdays, etc…) along with a lot of hot, steamy, sexy lovin’ between the lead couples. Mine books are the type you want to snuggle down with a blanket and/or a fire, a glass of wine and put the do not disturb sign up so you can allow yourself to be completely immersed in the characters lives.

I am also the type of writer who loves hearing from my readers. I will answer nearly every question asked, I will hang out with you for hours just chatting about life, books, or whatever (as long as I’m not editing or writing at the time and I’ll still pop on and let you know that’s what has me so quiet).

So stop on by, give me a shout, ask me a question and submerge yourself in Sapphire Springs and what is happening there, or in the fall of 2015 you’ll be able to go on adventure with the Deadly Flowers and show how girls can kick butt too, we just do it with more style and lipstick.

On the way to a dinner date one evening, Flick finds herself on the wrong side of town when her cab broke down… ignoring a stranger’s warning to stay away, she makes her way inside a bar. The next thing she knew, she’s flat on her back and about to be gang raped when the very man who warned her to stay away intervenes, much to her surprise.

Rushe is crude and dangerous–the kind of man they warn you to stay away from–but he is also diverse and intriguing, and Flick couldn’t help but get involved with him. Stuck in a shabby house with him along with a bunch of sleazy men (the same ones who tried to rape her) he works with, she doesn’t have any choice but to rely on Rushe for survival… and he turns out to be the more dangerous than any one of them.

Scarlett Finn is an excellent and risky storyteller; she gives a whole new meaning to “romantic suspense”. The very plot itself keeps you on your toes, the pacing of the story is excellent and the characters are more than engaging and they are consistent throughout the story.
